Are You Aware Of The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind?

When discussing the concept of  a mindset for success I hear a lot of talk on shifting beliefs.  By shifting beliefs I mean changing our beliefs from those which disempower us to those that empower.  You know the ones,

  • ‘I’m not good enough’
  • ‘I don’t know enough’
  • ‘I don’t have the time’
  • ‘I don’t have enough money’
  • ‘Who am I to think…?’

Sounds easy enough to change them right, but here’s the catch, around 98% of our beliefs are stored in our subconscious mind a part of us so deep that the majority of our population never explore.  I have talked before on how I believe our thoughts are planted firmly in our subconscious constantly, all day long without us even being aware of it.  It is habitual.  Whatever is sown is what you will see all around you.

If you have been sowing images and thoughts into your subconscious for a long time there are techniques to gently heal this part of you and make room for new, empowering thoughts and images.  I would recommend reading on the subject and gaining an understanding of how the subconscious affects our reality and what we experience.

A  good technique is to begin filling your living or working space with quotes and affirmations for example of things you desire or want to achieve.  This will gently stimulate that inner part of you subliminally, energising and uplifting you.  This is such a simple technique for developing a mindset for success as it will stimulate you to begin asking how you can have this or that.  You will become more aware of your limiting beliefs and question yourself lovingly…’Does this work for me or does it hurt me?’

I have met many people who have carried unconscious beliefs around illnesses, for example, beliefs which were not even from themselves.  They were beliefs (statements) they had heard from parents, peers, even school teachers.  Man, this is the power of suggestion working a treat don’t you think?  This is why hypnotherapists are a wonderful tribe who uncover our deep hidden beliefs and prove to be transformational for millions.

A, few years ago, 5 actually, I decided I wanted to learn Spanish.  I tried different classes, filled my bookshelves with grammar books and ended up with a garbled Spanglish, not a good sound believe me.  I was stuck but then I decided to develop a mindset for success.  I put up cards everywhere around my home, I listened to audio while I was asleep and I bought children’s  Spanish CD’s as my son was one year old at the time.  We played those CD’s constantly in the background THEN my son started repeating what he was hearing.  Numbers, verbs, lyrics, it was amazing!  All because I was sowing the information into his subconscious.  This was so cool so I looked into this further and really got into the power of our subconscious in a big way.  A one year old who was becoming bilingual

Whether it is a new language you want to learn, a new skill, better relationships or to build a business which will give you the life you want then start sowing those seeds and you will find your repertoire of questions relating to finding the right solution for you will expand and you will develop a mindset for success.  The blueprint of your life will change, your imagination will serve you and habitual, disempowering thoughts will lessen.

I highly recommend reading the wonderful book The power of your subconscious mind by Dr Joseph Murray

  • What a great article with a lot of resources. Our subconscious mind is what stores all of our beliefs, sometimes this is good and sometimes not so good. Thanks for the info!

    • Thanks Rhonda,
Yes our subconscious can be holding many of our limiting beliefs and our empowering ones. When we take the time to feed it more of the positives it can prove to be remarkable in terms of our success and mindset shifts,
      Thank you Rhonda
